For "Adventure Design Kit", as it can be observed, it is not available “a cleaned up” image, without contour and written ones. I have asked personally to the official designer, Les Edwards, which has informed me that he does not have more available the original image. However, as can be seen in the low-right angle of the image of the "Adventure Design Kit", the only author is always Les Edwards.

2) From next link (minute 02:05) it is possible to see the original spot of Hero Quest. The spot makes reference to the prototype box of Hero Quest, never commercialized. In fact you can see: gameboard with different colors and characteristics, dice with different black shield, different throne, figures with circular base, the inside of the cards to colors instead of white and black, different card “Fire of Wrath”. In particular, this card is totally different from the definitive card, it says: "This spell may be cast on any object or door in the same Room or Passage. The object and anything in it will then be destroyed. The spell may not be cast on Monsters or Players".

4) Hero Quest takes place in the Warhammer world. This comes demonstrated by the next described points, that refer to the map “The old world”, present on the back English quest book of the Hero Quest expansion “Return of the Witch Lord”. This map is the same present as coloured insert in the book (370 pages) “Warhammer fantasy roleplay - A grim world of perilous adventure”, published by Games Workshop in October 1986. This map is only a small part of widest one, that it is possible to observe to pages 272, 273 and 282 of the same book.  Moreover, the vicissitudes of Hero Quest take place in year 2513 of Warhammer history, as specified under the map “The old world”, where we find the wording “Jeremiah of Nuln 2513”. But no personage of Hero Quest appear in the world of Warhammer, therefore the connection between these two fantasy worlds is exclusively of environment and cartographic type.

*The empire

“The empire” comes quoted many times in Hero Quest, it is found in the center of the map

*Border Princes

As described to page 2 of rules of play booklet, in the base set of Hero Quest, Rogar the Barbarian is one of the “Border Princes”, territory in the south of “The empire”

*The world's edge mountains

As described to page 2 of rules of play booklet, in the base set of Hero Quest, Durgin the dwarf comes from “The world's edge mountains”, mountainous chain in the east of “The empire”, that separates “The empire” from “The dark lands”

*Sea of claws

As described to page 2 of rules of play booklet, in the base set of Hero Quest, Morcar and his general escaped beyond the “Sea of the claws”, in the north of "The empire"

*Northern chaos wastes

As described to page 3 of quest book, in the base set of Hero Quest, Morcar, after the combat with Mentor, escapes in the “Northern chaos wastes”, to lick his wounds, in the northeast of “The empire”

*Black fire pass

As described to page 34 of quest book, in the base set of Hero Quest, “Black fire pass” connects “The empire” to adjacent lands, said also “Border princes”, because they were lands of princes

*Karak Varn

In various moments of Hero Quest history, this name comes cited, it is the place where the imperial army comes besieged. It is one of the fortresses of “The world's edge mountains”. On this mountainous chain in fact the dwarves have constructed various fortresses, between which there is “Karak Varn”. In the map “The old world” the name “Karak Varn” does not appear, but this name is present in the map of “Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay” of 1986, next to the “Black water” lake. You can also look other fortresses, on the same mountainous chain (“Karak Kadrin” and “Karak Ungor” to north, “Karak Azul” and “Karak Azgal” to south)

*Black mountains

They come quoted to page 34 of quest book, in the base set of Hero Quest. On these mountains the Witch Lord escapes. The name of these mountains does not appear in the map “The old world”, but it appears in the most detailed map of “Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay” of 1986. They separate “The empire” from the “Border Princes”

*The dark lands

“The dark lands” are separated from “The empire” from the chain “The world's edge mountains” and they are found to east of this chain. On the map two mountain passes can be observed that lead to “The dark lands”. As described to page 4 of quest book of “Kellar's Keep” (Hero Quest expansion), on the chain “The world's edge mountains”, the dwarves have constructed various fortresses, the largest one is “Karak Varn”, for defense against “The dark lands”
